There are a total of eight types of Items. Items are used to modify an assassin's Stats , thus making the assassin more capable. Each assassin can be equipped with one of each type of Item at any given time. Assassins may only equip an Item if they have reached the Level required to equip the particular Item. If an Item's level is too high for the assassin to use, it will have a glowing yellow X across its picture in the player's Inventory. The value of the Item's Stats are combined into a single attribute called Item Power. This allows a player to roughly judge of how good an Item is and whether it is better than his existing Items. If an Item has higher Power than an assassin's already-equipped Item of the same type, the player will see an upward-pointing green arrow in the upper right of the Item's picture in his Inventory and on some other screens. However, note that Item Power does not take into account your assassin's capabilities and playing style. For instance, if your assassin uses bombs heavily, it may be more favorable to equip an Item with +90% Blasting Damage instead of an Item with higher Power but with no Blasting Damage bonus. Obtaining Items [ ] Items can be obtained as rewards on Contract missions, varying by the type of Contract, as rewards for some Achievements, and sometimes as rewards in Special Events. Items can also be created in the Forge or looted from Mystery Boxes. Finally, some items can also be bought in the Shop for Coins or Hero Items, or by in-app purchase as parts of Bundles. Item Quality [ ] Items all have an attribute called Quality, where Items of higher Quality tend to have higher Power at the same Level. The color of the square frame is an indicator of Quality. Quality is also roughly associated with Heroic Rank, although more so when referring to Mystery Boxes. Quality Frame Color Heroic Rank Mundane Gray Initiate Common Green Disciple Uncommon Blue Assassin Rare Purple Veteran Perfect Orange Master. Item Types [ ] Insignia [ ] Insignia are usually depicted as badges, brooches, or necklaces, although there is a rare case of an Insignia as an eye patch (and a hidden Achievement associated with it). The Insignia slot is unlocked as a reward for A Dangerous Trade", the 9th mission in the "A Murder of Crows" Campaign (spoilers) . Insignia can be obtained in Contract missions, but only as a second reward. They can be found in Mystery Boxes or made in the Forge. Outfits [ ] Outfits cover the other clothing of the assassin and dominate his visual appearance. Most Outfits only have one Stat. The Outfit slot is unlocked as a reward for "Burning Pages", the 7th mission in the "A Murder of Crows" Campaign. Outfits can be awarded for Achievements or in Special Events. but can never be obtained in Contract missions or Mystery Boxes, and cannot be made in the Forge. A list of generally available Outfits has been compiled. There is also a link to the older original Outfits page. Armor (Chest Armor) [ ] Chest Armor protects the chest and torso. It will always have Armor as one of its Stats. The Armor slot is unlocked at the start of the game. They are rewards in Crow Hunt, Escort, and Liberation Contract missions. Shoulders (Shoulder Armor) [ ] Shoulder Armor will also always have Armor as one of its Stats. The Shoulders slot is also unlocked at the start of the game. They are rewards in Pillage and Recovery Contract missions. Hidden Blades [ ] Hidden Blades are the assassin's signature weapon and provide some forearm protection, so they too always have Armor as their of its Stats. Some Hidden Blades have Extra Damage as a Stat, implying that they will improve melee combat Damage. They need no damage function themselves as Hidden Blade attacks kill instantly without regard to the strength of the targeted enemy. Note, however, that an assassin can conduct a assassination (instant kill) attack even if he is not equipped with a Hidden Blade. The Hidden Blade slot is unlocked at the start of the game. They are rewards in Assassination and Kill Contract missions. Weapon [ ] Weapons are always depicted as swords. They never have Armor as one of their Stats, but always have Damage as one of their Stats. The Weapon slot is unlocked at the start of the game. An assassin can still enter melee combat and will be shown fighting with a sword even if he has not equipped a Weapon. They are rewards in Bounty Hunt and Track Down Contract missions. Legwear [ ] Legwear will always have Armor as one of its Stats, and the Legwear slot is unlocked at the start of the game. They are rewards in Stalk and Tail Contract missions.
